Honey, we’re home! And we’re here to stay!

Honey, we’re home! And we’re here to stay!
What’s the buzz with honey anyways? I mean of course it tastes delicious, but what does it do for us? Specifically our doggos.
Honey is one of the most natural and powerful remedies. Humans have been enjoying honey for over 10,000 years! It was the Greeks who first saw honey as not only a delicacy but a healing medicine. The Romans would also use honey to heal their wounds.
The great thing about honey is that it is an all natural sweetener with no additives or preservatives. When stored correctly it can even have an indefinite shelf life.
Benefits of Honey for Dogs:
Just like humans, eating a spoonful of local honey can aid in discomfort from environmental allergies, infections, gastrointestinal problems and wounds including burns, hot spots, and pressure sores. It also aids in soothing those pesky kennel coughs!
Honey is such a powerful natural medicine because of all the vitamins and antioxidants loaded in it! That includes A, B complex, C, D, E and K, along with minerals such as calcium, copper, iron, magnesium and manganese. Another benefit to honey is a natural antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiseptic and antifungal properties.
A spoonful of honey as a treat, or in your doggos meals is safe but remember moderation is key! Too much sugar can lead to diabeteitc or overweight doggos.
A happy dog is a healthy dog!
